We, the faculty and administration of Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School, readily accept our ministry of Catholic education. We stress the importance of the parents as the primary educators and religious trainers of their children, and encourage an open and friendly communication policy among home, rectory, and school.

We feel the responsibility to integrate the Gospel message in all school subjects, when applicable, as well as in all aspects of school life, by upholding, teaching, and modeling Christian beliefs, morals, and ethics to our students.

The faculty and administration strive to create a family-like atmosphere that fosters the respect and dignity of each person. We emphasize the importance of developing healthy relationships with one another. We recognize the unique needs, abilities, and gifts of each student; and endeavor to accommodate these with our approach to instruction, and within the scope of our curriculum.

The philosophy of Bishop Louis Reicher School takes into account sociological, physical, intellectual, religious and psychological formation of the children.

Cathedral School of Saint Mary was founded in 1866 and is the longest, continuously running Catholic school in Texas.  While much has changed over the years, the values we seek to instill in our students remain the same.  Here at Cathedral School of Saint Mary, you will find the rich tradition of our Catholic faith is thriving, our students are excelling, and our community is warm and welcoming.

Our phenomenal faculty leverage our Classical curriculum to create a dynamic blend of the disciplines through integrating Sophia Institute's Spirit of Truth which lays the foundation for teaching St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body in middle school, Susan Wise Bauer's Story of the World series that makes History come alive, the Shurley English program which enables students to write beautifully, and the Saxon Math program to help students master and retain concepts as they continue to learn new skills. Science lessons can be taught in our beautiful school garden where each grade cultivates their own bed to grow fresh fruits and vegetables for the student body. All students are invited to join the choir and thus sing beautiful hymns at our weekly school Mass while experiencing the suburb acoustics from the Cathedral choir loft. We have a variety of sports, liturgical activities, celebrations and opportunities for student leadership. Small student-teacher ratio means our teachers can easily meet individual needs and assist students in mastering material.

Just two blocks from the Capitol, our campus is very convenient and accessible to all parts of town! Schedule a tour today; we'd love to meet you and your family!

St. Austin Catholic School is a unique place. Nestled in downtown Austin between the Texas State Capitol and the University of Texas, we are privileged to experience a contemporary urban environment. Since 1917, St. Austin Catholic School has been privileged to serve the Catholic community of Austin and to contribute, in a significant manner, to the evangelizing mission of the Diocese of Austin and the Paulist Fathers. Embedded within our parish community and built on the generosity and the sacrifice of many generations of Catholic families, our Catholic school today is a vibrant expression of the interaction between faith and life.

Parents choose to send their children to St. Austin Catholic School for a variety of reasons:

        • We provide an exceptional alternative to public education for all students.

        • Our student body represents a diverse cultural and economic community, much like that of Austin.

        • Our faculty members are highly qualified and exemplify professional excellence in their roles and continued professional growth.

        • A caring, faith-based culture permeates all facets of our school community.

        • Our location is close to the workplace of one parent or within a short drive from home.

        • Extended campus opportunities are available downtown and at the University of Texas.

        • We believe an obvious strength is the positive atmosphere that exists through the individual attention the students receive in our school.

        • Our Pre-K through 5 campus consists of 147 students and our middle school houses 68 students.

        • We value the uniqueness of each child and the God given gifts that each child brings to our community.

        • The children are loved, respected, and taught to strive for their personal best.

        • We offer our students a rounded education that supports personal growth based on Christian values.

Our educational goals have been founded in the Catholic tradition to provide a nurturing, challenging, and diverse environment of learning. Every aspect of St. Austin Catholic School strives to provide a Christian atmosphere. Whether you are looking at the teachers who work here, the community we serve, or the traditions we follow, Christ leads our way. We believe that a solid academic experience based in faith gives children the tools they need to succeed in life beyond the walls of a school. We follow the Latin adage “Non Scholae, sed Vitae” (Not for school, but for life).

St. Austin Catholic School proudly holds dual accreditation for our academic programs and excellence. Our accreditations are held with the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). In 2005, we were the first private school in the Austin area to receive recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the US Department of Education. In 2008 we received the Best of Austin Award in the Religious Schools category from the U.S. Local Business Association.

We invite you to take the time to view the information on our website, www.staustinschool.org. St. Mary's Catholic School cultivates wisdom and virtue, centered on Christ, in the Catholic classical tradition.  Founded in 1896 (the oldest private school in the county), our program nourishes each soul on the True, the Good, and the Beautiful.  For generations, our formation has awakened in students their natural desire for a life of virtue, which sets them free to know, love, and serve God and neighbor, aware of their ultimate purpose in life – to become a saint.

This authentic purpose of education and of life imbues our daily activities and lessons with JOY.  This conviction will help students encounter not just lofty ideas, but a person - Jesus Christ - who IS truth, beauty, and goodness personified and with whom a personal relationship gives life a new horizon and decisive direction. Consider giving your child a St. Mary's education today, and schedule your tour now!

The Mission of St. Mary’s Catholic School is the commitment to academic excellence, and the spiritual development of our students toward a life of prayer, service and love.

St. Mary’s School was founded in 1897 under the name of St. Mary’s Academy by Father Heckmann, pastor of St. Mary’s Church.  Under his direction, with the active support of a dedicated group of parishioners, Divine Providence Sisters guided the pupils for several years.  The Divine Providence Sisters withdrew in 1912 and not until 1919 could teaching sisters be found to continue their good work.  Sisters of the Congregation of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament from Houston, Texas, began their mission at St. Mary’s School in 1919 and had a presence in the school until the retirement in May 1995 of long-time librarian, Sister James Philip Davison.  In 1974, Mrs. Loris Edwards became the first lay principal.

Today, the school is staffed by lay teachers who, together with the clergy, parents, and students, work for its uninterrupted growth and success to the greater honor and glory of God.

San Juan Diego Catholic High School (SJDCHS) is modeled after Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, where students work in entry-level positions in the corporate world to earn part of their tuition. San Juan Diego Catholic High School is popularly known as “The School That Works!” SJDCHS graduated its first class in 2006.

SJDCHS is a community of faith in partnership with the Congregation of Holy Cross, located in the heart of South Austin, minutes from downtown. As a community of faith, we believe that a Catholic, college preparatory education, combined with a corporate work study program, creates spiritual, intellectual, and professional growth for the students we serve. We provide a Catholic education that transcends economic barriers and is accessible to all. We believe that each of our students is a unique gift from God, with the potential to be transformed and to transform others. We value our students, their families, and the rich culture that they bring to our school community. We are committed to shaping the young hearts and minds of our future leaders.

In 1972, the only Catholic high school in Austin closed. Ten years later, Austin was the only major US city without a Catholic high school. A small group of parents and Catholic lay leaders headed by Dr. Leonard Dolce commissioned a study that revealed the Austin community would enthusiastically support such a school. In 1984, St. Michael’s Catholic Academy opened its doors. It was one of the first Catholic schools in the nation established entirely by laypeople. The land and the school are not owned by the diocese – a striking departure from typical Catholic schools. Although the Diocese of Austin has been extremely supportive, laypeople have assumed full responsibility for the school. Since the school’s beginning, trustees, parents, faculty, and staff have labored to realize its founding vision: to be a first-class Catholic secondary school that nourishes the minds, bodies, and spirits of its students, preparing them for a challenging college education and a Christian adult life. St. Michael’s Catholic Academy is a college-preparatory school serving a diverse student body. Combining academic excellence with faith formation and co-curricular learning opportunities, St. Michael’s prepares the whole student for leadership, service, and decision-making consistent with Catholic values.
